QUICK + EASY ENTERTAINING TIPS

homemade tunafish

This is such a simple thing to make but if you’ve never made it from scratch, give it a try, it’s so much better than getting it from a can.

1 cup fresh poached tuna, roughly chopped*
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper
Finely diced onion and celery, optional

In a medium bowl, combine tuna and mayonnaise and season with salt and pepper. Adjust flavor as necessary. Stir in onion and celery (if using) and chill until ready to serve.

*To poach fresh tuna, place tuna steak and enough water to cover fish in a medium saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer (do not boil). Cook over low heat until fish is opaque, about 10-12 minutes. Remove from water, transfer to a bowl and allow to cool. Flake with a fork before serving.

Serves 1.
