This recipe has been circulating around the internet for awhile and I’m not exactly sure where it comes from but it’s super easy and wickedly addicting. I have reduced the recipe to be a more manageable quantity for a single person…a bigger batch would be deadly! To keep yourself from eating all of these addicting things in one sitting, leave oreo truffles in the freezer and pull them out as you want them. Melt 1 ounce of white chocolate for each truffle, so measure accordingly.
1 8-ounce snack-size bag mini Oreo cookies
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
8 ounces white chocolate (1 ounce per truffle)
1. In a food processor, pulse oreo cookies until small crumbs form. Add cream cheese and blend until smooth, like a dough. Form into 8 individual truffles and place on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Cover with plastic wrap and place in freezer for 10-15 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, melt white chocolate over a double boiler. Dip each truffle, one at a time, in white chocolate, covering completely. Place truffles back on wax paper. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until firm.
