QUICK + EASY ENTERTAINING TIPS

cheddar and apple sandwich

When apples are in season, I love to make this really quick sandwich when I’m pressed for time. There is something about the crunch of the apple with the sharp cheddar on a really good baguette that I simply just love. For me, I like to use both mayonnaise and mustard mixed together as my condiment but you can use just about anything you like here. The mustard adds a nice tartness while the mayonnaise adds some creaminess; together it’s a perfect combination.

1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper
1 4-inch piece French baguette, cut horizontally in half
1/2 Granny Smith apple, cut into thin slices
2 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, sliced

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and mustard. Season with salt and pepper. Spread on each half of bread. Top bread with apple and cheddar slices and serve.

Serves 1.
