QUICK + EASY ENTERTAINING TIPS

homemade bacon bbq sauce

Everything is indeed better with bacon, at least in my book, and this barbecue sauce is no exception. Use a good, smoky bacon which will give the resulting sauce a deep, earthy flavor. Put the bacon slices in the freezer for about 15 minutes before dicing (bacon is easier to cut when it’s cold).

1 clove garlic, finely minced
2 slices thick-cut bacon, finely diced
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon molasses
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
3 1/2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
4 tablespoons ketchup

In a medium saucepan, cook garlic for 30 seconds over medium-low heat. Add bacon and cook until nice and crispy, about 5 minutes. Drain off excess grease. Add remaining ingredients and cook for about 10 minutes, until sauce has reduced and is thickened.

Serves 1.
